FAQ

Each houseboat is fully equipped with everything you need for your trip. You can read all about each houseboat’s features on our Houseboat Fleet page. Every houseboat includes:  A generator systems with 240v power throughout, economical outboard motors, bed linen and towels, toilet paper, basic cleaning products, clotheslines and pegs, grey water treatment plant, first aid kit, ice chest, and river charts.

Before you set off on your adventure, we give you a full rundown of how the houseboat operates and show you the river charts. You can also ask Tim and Gaynor where the best spots are to park along the river, and they’d be happy to guide you.

At Customs House Houseboats, you can explore the Murray River by traveling either 40 kilometres upstream to a secluded area, ending at the Warrakoo Groyne, or downstream through Lock 6 to the township of Renmark. Please note that traveling beyond Warrakoo Groyne or Renmark is not permitted.

All rates and prices are detailed on the Houseboat Fleet page for each boat. To secure your booking, a deposit must be paid within 7 days of booking. The remaining balance, minus the deposit, is due 6 weeks prior to your departure. Additionally, the bond must be paid on the day you pick up your houseboat. Planning for your trip? Consider everything you’ll need to make the most of your time on the river, allowing you to stay out and enjoy without needing to return to town. From clothing suitable for both hot days and cool nights, to swimwear, recreational gear, and provisions for meals and drinks, think ahead. Remember to pack essentials like watersports equipment, ice, petrol, towels, and fishing gear. Don’t forget personal items such as toiletries, first aid kits, and plenty of water.
